New High Rise in Liverpool’s Chapel Street Garnering Attention

The latest Liverpool high rise, 20 Chapel Street, did not have a very promising beginning. Its lettings have now gone up and it also has good prospects ahead. This Liverpool project which is undertaken by the Rumford Investments is worth £60 million. It consists of two towers, one for the business sector and the other for residential use.

Although the high rise has been critically acclaimed, and its architecture has been acknowledged by many awards, its angular design does not appear to have suited the popular taste. This led to a rather low number of lettings in the beginning.

Its office tower covers 150,000 sq. ft. and has started catching the eye of many businesses and commercial enterprises including financial sector undertakings. Some of the professional firms which have shown interest in acquiring an shared offices in the tower include Ernst & Young, Barclay’s Wealth, Barclay’s Bank, and the Bank of Ireland, among others.

An office space of 3,165 square feet on the second floor of the high rise has been let out to a new lessee, Jackson LLP. Commercial Marketing Consultant of the building, Alastair Newman has also informed that there are many contracts for renting the office space which are being concluded. Moreover, many of the prospective clients have already been taken for second viewing of the high rise.

It has been reported that these negotiations are for around 25,000 square feet office space. The remaining 85,600 square feet of space, however, is not bothering the developers because of the large amount of attention attracted by the office space. The investment company has said that it will keep informing the public about the latest lettings.
